Playing With Love
Playing is fun
Exciting, desirable, leisurely
I learned years ago that
Playing with love is a dangerous pastime
Once it finds you
Love is no longer a game
Playing with love was like
A cat and mouse game
Suddenly- it is caught by surprise
Something unexpected
A mystery
A lingering
It simmers and never leaves
Six years have passed
What was a game
Turned out to be something else
It waits in the back of my mind
Like a sweet and sour warhead candy
Leaving me undeniably wanting more
And all I ever wanted was to play
It's time to rearrange the pieces
And put the board back in the box
Love is not a little sweet thing to nibble on
Love is not a game to set up and to break the rules
Love isn't meant to be played like a game
Love inspires truth
