Play My Heartstrings Like a Harp

When a heart breaks, it truly breaks
Your heartstrings become weaker
Sometimes they snap

Love is a game to me
A game of Simon says
Play my heartstrings like a harp
Maybe you will get the right melody

A soft, sweet thing, this melody
Almost ethereal, nearly heavenly
Perhaps that's what I want it to be
Perhaps you hear something different

Please, if you will
Play my heartstrings like a harp
Find my melody
And I may find yours

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
