Planning
Don’t ever thing about the future
Don’t ever think you can control her
Because it’s all so ephemeral
Every plan simply conjectural
Today it might seem plausable
It feels like every dream could become possible
But then it all shifts
In a matter of minutes
You’re world gets turned upside down
You no longer recognize this town
It was suppose to be home
Now it all just feels so I known
Because promises were broken
Plans left unfulfilled
You don’t even know him
But you trusted him still
To be different from the rest
To give you his best
But just like the ones who came before
He promised it all and then got bored
He seemed like the exception
In hindsight it was mere deception
Even as he opens each door
Lead you across each floor
Kissed you at the red light
Not wanting to leave ,spending the night
Talking to your father and winning your mothers heart
Just to tear all that we’ve built apart
Just to leave you’re bed feeling emptier than before
Just to leave you wanting it to have been more
Because how could he have been all you’ve ever wanted before
And just leave you longing at the front door
It’s still open
Even with my heart broken
I know he wouldn’t even have to apologize
For me to once again stare lovingly into his eyes
I need to learn when to leave to let go
But how am I supposed to let him borrow
My heart and take it back when he is done
When I’ve only ever learnt to gift it to everyone
Regardless of the scars and hurt I feel
I still hope and pray this time it’s real
But it’s never been anything but lies
And somehow it still comes as a surprise
When my highest hopes leave me disappointed
Heartbroken and longing I always end up getting appointed
I really hoped this would be different and that you would be too
I should’ve known to never plan a future and picture you
