Plaguing You

Pandemonium seeps and creeps like a thief in the night
Seeking to consume everything in sight
fear shown leads to their delight

madness, hopelessness & confusion
weaves a web of delusion
man, I think I need a whole body transfusion

I mean don’t panic this is nothing new
Just run out and stock up on food & toiletries too
then take a deep breath it will be over soon

old man Trump got everything under control
just keep your hands in your pockets don’t touch the rails or polls
and whatever you do don’t eat what’s in the bowl

don’t approach anyone that appears to be choking
I’m not joking
it matters not if they seem to be croaking

mask, gloves, protective gear
COVID-19 a convenient way to make us fear
by putting these viruses in the atmosphere

stay clear of those who look ill
don’t take that $48 round trip flight to Brazil
even though it’s a steal

no hugs, no kiss, no affection
don’t want to increase my chances for infection
these guidelines are for yours and my protection

don’t inhale or exhale too hard
don’t lounge around in your own backyard
but please oh please don’t stop using your bank card

and as you drive around
looking for what’s left on the shelves to be found
let’s try not to have a nervous breakdown.
