There could be a double entendre here, maybe: The Yiddish phrase, 'a bissel,' means 'a little' in English. Anyway, if so, great. If not -- great as it stands... No whistling allowed in my house, btw. Interesting. :) gw

I do know a few Yiddish phrases as my classroom had as many Jews as Gentiles in them. I lived in a location where many Jewish families were neighbours. There was a Market named Ridley Road Market that sold beautiful Jewish food and many stall holders were Jews. I had good friends who were Jews and often went to visit their homes which always had a special smell of cooking etc and was welcomed warmly by all. Jewish boys showed respect to girls. These memories of my life during the Blitz and after will remain with me forever. Mazel tov. I did not know the Yiddish phrase ' a bissel' though Gershon. Thank you for bringing these lovely memories to mind again after all these years...Shirley
