Amid thunder and lightning, The holy act of mating of clouds, Results in the birth of raindrops! Knowing their assigned mission, Like bullets they hit the ground To quench the thirst of the earth! The soaked earth in turn readies The seeds beneath it to sprout! Overnight, all over, the earth appears As if it is clad in green velvet cloth! Sensing the smell of the earth, From their safe havens, animals Feeling a great sigh of relief joyously come out dancing, Celebrating the arrival of raindrops! Transforming themselves into streams, Traversing forests, fields and villages, Filling the wells and tanks, raindrops On earth do bring in a festive fervor! Raindrops are not simply water drops, They are elixirs for crops so different! Pearl shaped pills of joy for mankind!!
