Piers
Heaven send your showmanship,
Brave steps creaking along this pier,
Rotting and unwieldly,
Get to the edge with the sun above your dreams
And throw your sword into the sea.
Inhale with angel steadiness the peace of loss.
Retreat or sit-down.
Crash through the fishy wood,
Or find the widest intersection.
Allow your pain the power to change street lights.
Shun brownies, burgers, and benevolence,
Or embrace all three in the soul's inner twilight;
Your haloed love of the fight.
Your shading shifting energy is indomitable.
You, the ordinary, setting the scene for your world,
Smoldering with fiery sentiments,
Taking names, and burning them into your heart.
