Picturesque Scrapbook

Trees in the foreground, taller in the background Where a brook runs through Sun’s rays captured the morning dew. Whispering pines faintly speak, weeping willows slightly bow Jack O’lanterns sway to and fro White lilacs stir, low winds blow. Meadows spread evenly aside, valleys lie just ahead Stone walls extend side to side, Purple strife borders, buttercups blossom wide. Mountains tickle the skies, jagged cliffs protrude Goldenrod’s scent abound, Golden eagle circling, driftwood lying around Fallen rocks gather moss, crevices divide Rapids streaming downstream Salmon leaping in between Sundown’s glow weakens, tucks in nature’s day Fox and fawns settling down Shadows chase without a sound Cricket’s sounds dissipate, cool air trickles by Setting the stage for nature to sleep Night moves in, day will keep. The wilderness renders, nature has nurtured Preserved for future perception Memories are stored, forthcoming reflection.

I love the two-one-two construction. It gives this poem a nice, gentle flow.
