Photograph

A photograph to haunt the mind.
Her memory from another.
A picture taken long ago
to testament and smother.

Her beauty saying "All Behold"!
In truth a valiant act.
Her courage stifled by the shot
that caution isn't lacked.

Her smile to hold your heart aloft.
as fake if it were whole.
Her eyes to keep your head affixed
to deep deep darkest coal.

A photograph on thin film paper.
Matted to a shine.
The light emitting from her heart,
a testimony's shrine.
