Phoenix

Lava oozes from my skin Or so it seems everything Burning from within Meltdown mind dissolve Re-ingest concoctions I don’t Dare now to evolve I place my trust in a newer hand Caring not that I'm engulfed Moulded like smelted metal A newer form is fashioned And like the Phoenix ..................?

Luv the Lava too David.. we are going lava surfing today though I think I'll watch this old man fall on his butt..haha.. I told him he is 55 but he said he feels 25 and he is doing it.. so I gotta say yes too.. u may read about us in the local papers ..haha.. but your poem is very introspective and hope u are now deciding on a new lease in life.. u earned it my friend.. it was all an experience .. remember we are to learn from them.. with luv from the "Sweetheart" in Hawaii.. AlohA..

It takes a lot to get through this type of transformation, David. I appreciate the reference to the mythological phoenix rising from the ashes. Your poem makes me wonder how many resurrections we have in us. We're not cats -- don't have nine lives -- yet man seems to be more adaptable to change than most species. Very thought-provoking poem! Love, Carolyn
