Phases of Love

Nascent love
Ebullient unrestrained
Triggers spark on each touch
Desire in each gaze
Dressed to the hilt
Sprinkled with perfumes and gels
Spills over in bars and discos
Waiting for a passionate night to share

Mature love
Settled in the veins
Warms from within
Hair unkempt and eyes unadorned
Leans over shoulders and stretches
With a cup of coffee beside the fireplace
Inhaling the tedium of winter nights
Ensconced in a blanket with life to share
