Petition To the Wind

Listen to the breeze
You shall hear my distant call
Way away from where you belong.
You will hear my plea
My calling and crying
Because my big heart is breaking.

Watch the running streams
As they trickle down from the heights
They come from my eyes.
I have been fouled and forsaken
Mistreated and wasted
Left bare to wear and erode.

In my solemn time
A thousand wishes dance around me
Dreams of a time to be held
Comforted and cared for
Like a calf that has lost it’s herd
I send my petition with the wind.

Listen to the wind again
Can you hear me ?
Are you out there ?
Come to my aid
Turn my crying and pleas
Into tuneful and sweet melody
