Pete and Bette

Old Man Pete lived all alone
in a junk yard trailer
he called home

Had a dog with a crooked leg
a one eyed cat
whose name was Fred

Lost his wife name of Bev
ran her down
with his '64 Chev

Met a stripper name of Bette
just while surfing
on the net

She'd been wed for many a year
but hubby died
from too much beer

Second partner name of Frank
was doing time
for robbing bank

Next came Al who was a sport
but drinking landed
him in court

Then she met a chap named Ben
who now sits
in a New York pen

Last came Leroy who ran away
with Bette's sister
Tammy Mae

Bette and Pete soon got wed
then he took her
to his bed

Bette went into part time hooking
white Pete stayed home
and did the cooking

Each night they sit so glad they wed
with their three legged dog
and cat named Fred

This sounds like the lyrics to a country song (Maybe Willy Nelson??!)....So funny! ~ Carrie
