Notes About The Poem

Petals On the Snow

“Tears are like the quiet drift
Of petals from some magic rose
And grief yet flows from the rift
 Of unremembered skies and snows.”

Of petals from some magic rose
Of quiet beauty unsurpassed
Of unremembered skies and snows
Of joyous songs for all to last.

Of quiet beauty unsurpassed
As grief yet flows from the rift
Of joyous songs for all to last
Tears are like the quiet drift

Your Pantoum is such that would seem to have a life of its own - so lovely. That takes great skill as a writer. Congratulations! Suzanne.

So well written Suz, I've only tried this form once and found it a struggle. You've made it look easy, I hope you are keeping well. Tom

Hi Tom: I encourage you to take a look at Joseph’s Contest. If you set out one of his 4 line quotes I am sure you can fill in a couple of lines needed. These things practically write themselves. Best, SuZ

Thanks Line: I have only tried ths form a couple of times. Glad to hear it worked. Kind of magic how they seem to write themselves once you have the first four lines. Cheers, SuZ
