Permanent Stains

Tightness at my core
Pangs won't depart
Each breath is my last
Doomed from the start

At bottom now
I look around
There is no help
To be found

Darkness my comfort
Despair my new friend
I know
He'll be there until the end

Self to blame
No cry or tear will abate
No solace exists
Dreadful eternal state

Thoughts are cloudy
What choice remains
Nothing will heal
Permanent stains

These are genuinely painful words, emphasizing deepest struggle. Although we suffer, we can also forgive, ourselves to begin with. Really felt this, Scott.
