Permanent Record

I was scared to even cut
I would come 10 minutes
before the bell would even ring
I was on my best behavior
I never once got suspended
until someone informed me
that the permanent record
wasn't real.
The moment I learned this.
My fear diminished.
What I really should
have been scared of
was the day I became an adult
and jobs wouldn't hire me.
Because the system has
me listed for armed robbery
Now that's something that will follow me.
