Perhaps We Doth Protest Too Much

“Perhaps we doth protest too much”* while eating bread without the crust while claiming there’s no one to trust why are we making such a fuss when those who protest curse and cuss while texting on their i-phone plus and should the traffic jam they cause fail to arouse you – give you pause remind them they too have their flaws but leave yourself a way to flee for in their world freedom ain’t free unless you think the same as thee aggression’s have been shrunk to “micro” to protect the views of those gone “psycho” whose rebellion started with a “typo” my T-shirt says that “I DON’T CARE” alas, that is their biggest fear that they will shout – but no one hear demands they think we all should share and so in protest I refuse to acquiesce to mob rule muse but to write and think the way I choose ©4/2/2019 *with apologies to the Bard Protest poem : A poem with a message Poetry contest Stephen Pennell - sponsor
