Perhaps
Perhaps
By Athena Beauchamp
I was perfectly content with the life I had.
Never wanting , needing, or lusting for a man.
That day I should have ran.
Not glancing back, i should have...
I would have but,
You called for me to stay.
I could have gone on,
but no
I turned.
I let you in, into my garden.
Tasting the forbidden fruit.
Feasting as we passed the hours ,
Savoring the ecstasy.
Sharing the moments,
Passionate, erotic,no choice.
I was under your spell
You weaved it so well.
I could not see
what was coming for me.
Blindly going on,
searching the heights
of your passion and ardor with me.
Now, that the fancy is over
you walk away...
Just leaving, exiting my world,
with the heart of this woman.
Like a thief in the night.
You have stolen my property.
Oh, there it is
all broken and bruised,
my heart you cast aside.
As I look at your footprints in the sod,
I wonder why I am loving you still.
Why ?
I ask
I would like to know...
Perhaps someday I will...
Someday...
