Perhaps

do you see that I am tired and can’t keep up
only want to sip some nectar in a cup
some birds to sing to me would be nice
perhaps the song again would be twice

please open the window to let in some air
doubt that I can make it out there
they’ll come in pairs I know you can tell
perhaps some will bow, to say farewell

tomorrow will be the same as today
they’ll show up and perch the same way
wondering where could I be
perhaps they’ll glance in my window to see

each day they checked in for a spell or two
feathered friends, dragonflies and chipmunks too
each day goes by and the seasons elapse
the gathering will still be there without me perhaps.
