Perfect World
Perfect world

In a perfect world
No one would need to feel hurt
But without any pain
Would we know what we're striving for?
We all believe we want peace
That we want our dreams to be attained
But most people don't have inner peace
And are confused about their aspirations
Peace seems so elusive
Because conflict is so rife
People lose focus about what matters
They get confused about wrong and right
Everyone wants a hero
But no one seems to step up to try
We could all be heroes
If we would be prepared to die
But what cause is worth dying for?
In a world where the sands keep shifting?
There's so much hidden in the shadows
That we don't know who is truly virtuous
We all have our fantasies about Utopia
What it would mean to live on a perfect sphere
But unless we had 8 billion worlds
Few people would agree on what perfection entails
On all sides of the planet people have beliefs
And they can sometimes seem contradictory
But ultimately people are seeking familiarity
A place to call home and a community
Pain makes us realise we are hurting
Feelings make us accept our humanity
We all belong to a greater source
In the Universe beyond our imagination
Maybe one day when we're all enlightened
When we've evolved beyond the limitations of ego and greed
We'll realise how perfect we could make it
If we would all work together as a team
We are all united as pure energy
Our souls are interconnected eternally
The Universe made us in perfection
We just have to realise it and make it real
