Perfect Valentine Doesn'T Exist

So many writes about valentines, perfect life partner Are they telling the truth? Do perfect people exist? I doubt, I haven't seen any! My husband is a normal human As selfish, self-willed, peculiar and particular as any other human Many of his actions irritate me, He refuses to change. I have learnt to accept and adjust . He goes to office when I have fever Says he is holding a responsible position, cannot take leave. His family and son are more important than me They are blood relationship that's why maybe But I am still very happy with my valentine He has many qualities that are praiseworthy He doesn't smoke or drink, is not womanizer He has good value system He is a responsible person Earns enough to provide for all family needs He takes good care of self, all for his family Exercise, walking, proper diet... He helps me when he is free Was by my side whenever I was hospitalized Has never given me a gift till date but has given me freedom to buy all that I want He doesn't care for my looks Believes real beauty lies within, praises my good heart He is not perfect, nor am I We understand each other, adjust and manage to live happily I am perfectly satisfied for I know there is nothing called perfect human Perfection exists only in movies and literature. Regarding love, what is true love I am not clear I admit my son is more dear to me than my husband. 19th Feb 2021 Placed 1st in Valentine contest

You are right, no relationship is perfect. However we can make an effort to keep romance and fun as a part of our lives together.

WoW! Rama, I liked your take on the contest theme. I agree there is no such things as a perfect (Mate)human. I liked the down to earth tone and vibe of your write. In my opinion true is love is loving and accepting another’s flaws. Your husband sounds like a good guy, you are blessed to have found each other. Congratulations on your 1st place win. It was well deserved. Have a great day:-) Alexis

This is one valentine that should not be sent to your husband. But one that everyone else might read to see unvarnished honesty incarnate. You certainly took a different take on the prompt. Take pride in your high placement. I hope you apply similar creativity and honesty to other poetic topics. I look forward to see your future verse adventures. Kudos to you.

Again, a different slant on the theme of valentine Rama! :) A very honest piece of work. Your poem, not your husband...I don't know your husband. :) Cheers - Gary

Thanks for the top placement. I read a story in newspaper once in which a girl divorced her husband as he was not as perfect as they portray in movies, literature, poetry. Saw many poems about perfect valentine. Wanted to convey the truth. Take care, Enjoy your day.

None of us are perfect, and I believe that true love accepts this fact. We are all flawed, but when we see we each are only a person living in a world of imperfections, it helps. To be there to support each other through sickness, health, richer or poorer, better or worse, being faithful in love and heart, well, it makes this world more bearable through the ups and downs. This is real, and it is love <3 Very good Valentine truth!

Loving someone is to accept a person with all his good and imperfections. And it is only natural that you love your son more. ~~

Being human excludes perfection but this should stop us from looking for the best possible relationship we could have to find imperfect happiness which is better than perfect misery, my friend, Rama! Wonderfully written!

Thanks for your wonderful comments. Yes we should and do try but many times young generation divorce for clumsy reason. Many do not understand true love is a fallacy. Have a great day ahead friend. Take care Rama

Hello Rama, right no one is perfect. When my husband was alive, all we did was exchanged Valentine cards. We did nothing special. So no one is perfect. God bless Darlene.

Hello Rama, yes I agree a bit of adjustment can avoid divorce. You are welcome. I will and you do the same. Enjoy your evening my friend.

Not just you, many are in same situation. That is life. But many poets, movies, books portray it differently, creating rosy dreams. I feel a bit of adjustment can avoid divorces. Anyway we cannot run away from the results of our misdeeds. Thanks for your wonderful comments. Take care Rama
