Perchance

You had the rhythm
You had the tempo
until you missed a beat,
You lost the dance.

You had the wings
You had the flow
until you missed a flight,
You lost the chance.

You had a dream
You had the plan
until you lost the will,
You failed to enhance.

You had love
You found a soulmate
until you courted a vamp,
You missed a truer romance.

You had God
You had a prayer
until you lost faith,
You missed penance.
