Perception

Darkness looms and clouds appear,
a search for choices no one near.
A door is shut, or so it seems...
  then suddenly, perception gleams,
  a new way out!

 Rains appear and shadows fall,
and in time, a feeling small,
 begins to lurk within...
then prayer conceives a new perception,
 once again.

 Rains continue on a theme,
of hammer blows, an endless stream.
A wear and tearing of the heart...
 until an ending nears.

The time it passes, birds still sing,
 and once again perception brings
 the dawning...
 of a brighter day.

Dear Carol, Thank You for writing to me. I need to read your Poems and begin submitting mine. I just retired teaching Music in Arizona for 27 years, so I now have some time to look into publishing some of my writings. I look forward to your comments. Sincerely, Robert E.
