People Just Like You
Sitting in the back of the room
Crying over a 'Rooster'
A little humility
Will do you some good
You're not the best anymore
Or were you at all?
Head stuck in the clouds
Oblivious to who you hurt
Not in the lead?
You take everyone down with you
No one feels sorry
Really they're celebrating
But still they're there
Patting you on the back
Feeding you lies
Telling you that you deserve better
When really
You don't
So when someone spills the truth
You find yourself devastated
Because for once in your life
Someone isn't comforting you
They spout their opinion
And their opinion isn't yours
Her words burn in your mind
They circle in your brain all day
You're angry
You're upset
You don't understand that you can be wrong
Oh how the mighty have fallen
Or that's what they say
You lie on the ground
Scared and confused
What can you do?
Not accept the truth
No!
Why would you do that?
Truth is lies
Lies are truth
That's how life goes
Around and around
A continuous circle of fallacy
And you're caught up in it
You can't break free
You don't even try
Why would you?
People will feed you deceit
And try their best to make it true
So keep going with your life
Let the lies consume you
Condemn yourself to Hell
You'll like it there
It's full of people
Just like you
