Peony Delight

Peony delight, nectar of princesses
Joyful ebony ants paraded toward them
A steady stream, covering the bulb of a blossom
The plant rejoiced. Loving the attention.
Wind whistled approval; sure sign of summer solstice.
Blossoms tucked inside, listened to the avalanche of attention.
Instantly recognizing and approving the wonderfulness of nature

Peonies are a favorite with me, especially the red ones. But as all my fave flowers like the Honey suckle, Lilac and Roses they do attract ants. Lovely write Caren. God Bless, JB
