Penny In a Well

I dug in my pocket
To pull out a wish
It floated to the bottom
And that is where it sits

But money can't buy
The dreams you have to sell
Your my wish, your my penny
In a well

My wish is for our souls
To someday be one
My dream is to hold you
Beyond the setting sun
But unlike a love
That just lingers and dwells
Your my wish, your my penny
In a well

Like a big diamond sparkles
That bright penny shines
Hoping what comes true
Is what lives in my mind

While most men still struggle
With dreams they cannot tell
Your my wish, your my penny
In a well

My wish is for our souls
To someday be one
My dream is to hold you
Beyond the setting sun
But unlike a love
That just lingers and dwells
Your my wish, your my penny
In a well

One hopes for vengance
Paid for with change
While many lie in there
So few are the same

There's one in each life
That our feelings can't quell
Your my wish, your my penny
In a well

Ever so softly they fall and they wait
One hopes for forgiveness
Another for faith
Yet somehow It seems you've cast me a spell
Your my wish, your my penny
In a well

Please don't cast me aside
Cause I already fell
Your my wish, your my penny
In a well

Yes Your my wish, your my penny
In a well
