Notes About The Poem

Pen to Quote 2

"You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today." - Abraham Lincoln

My self-worth in tatters, still fraught with regret.
Future seems dim, no accomplishments met.
Live for today, they say nothing else matters.
Still fraught with regret, my self-worth in tatters.

Contemplate addressing it today, all else is the same.
So self-absorbed and I failed to extinguish the flame.
Define a problem and a solution is on its way.
All else is the same, contemplate addressing it today.

Opportunities gone by, the outcome will never be known.
The sun always rises, as it did today, so have the seeds sewn.
Evading your duties today, will double them, on that you can rely.
The outcome will never be known, opportunities gone by.

Life is what you make it, and there is nothing totally certain.
The answer is not to hide behind a safety net, throw back that curtain.
You wont score a goal, if you dont take a shot, step up and take it.
And there is nothing totally certain, life is what you make it.
