Peek a Boom

PEEK A BOOM!

Take a peek,
See what’s looming,
Populations booming,
Take a peek,
Things don’t seem sweet,
Soldiers marching, many feet,
Take a peek,
Priest holds communion cup,
Wardens locking prisoners up,
Take a Peek
Ferocious politics taking place,
Wars and leaders losing face,
Take a peek
What is happening today,
Bloodshed, dying, home far away,
Take a peek,
Mother in park with baby,
Bomb explodes, did they escape, maybe,
Take a peek,
What is the world doing,
What on earth is brewing?
Take a peak
Oh don’t put on the news,
It gives me the blues!
Take a peek,
America, Russia, China and the rest,
Do your best,
Take a peek,
Collectively pinpoint
A similar viewpoint,
Take a peek,
Politicians and politics,
Are coming apart at the seams,
Take a peek,
Do they know what this means,
Take a peak,
Each player wants a piece
Of the pie,
Don’t pay heed to Armageddon been nigh,
Take a peek,
Takes one madman, the button is red,
Presses it and we are all dead!
Peak a boom!

We are Kim, and we only need one crazy person to send planet earth reeling. Perhaps our darling President Trump or maybe who he calls rocket man! Thanks for commenting xoxo, Jennifer.

You have made your point with meaningfully expressed words, Jennifer. I love the title, too! The world is playing with fire...and those playing with fire can easily get burnt! ~ Warm regards // paul

Thank-you Paul, I rather like the title also. Your comments are always so pertinent and meaningful, I enjoy them all. The people who will unfortunately suffer will be the masses, devastation and chaos will reign. Warm regards, Jennifer.

Apaches believe everyone is born with an obligation to make this world a better place, not for their children, but for their grandchildren, but the government of the US is wholly concerned with making this world better for them right now and children and grandchildren can fend for themselves. We need more people like you to spread the word that disparaging others only fosters negative reactions, so keep writing! Aloha! Rico

Hi Rico, Your comments are always so wise! If my small contribution can encourage others to speak out I would be ecstatic! It's not ourselves we care about - it's our children and grandchildren, as I mentioned before my son Ricky does not want to bring a child into this chaotic wild west/bomb threatening world that we are living in. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Yasou, Jennifer.

Love the title! And the message is spot on!... Moreover, it's time for Polyanna's return; time to look for the good in things and people---and to let go of the world of politics and politicians

And I love your comment Gershon. My thought is that either a monstrous epidemic will be let loose (political leaders having been vaccinated for it), which will only be available to the rich and famous, and/or that politicians want World War in order to thin out the world's population. Both are horrendous! Maybe my imagination is too vivid! Best wishes , Jennifer

You aptly describe the sad reality of terrorism in our day and age in your well written poem, Jennifer. Thanks for visiting my page, as well. :)

Well said Jennifer, gets to the stage where you dont want to listen to the news anymore, its all doom. As for politicians once in they seem to forget the promises made. Have a nice weekend. Tom.

Hi Tom, Promises promises, promises! But, no action taken. It is the same everywhere. One wonders - is our will in place, or, I will save this for my children, or even planning a holiday for next year - how do we know, so let's all live today as if there is no tomorrow (in moderation of course). Thanks Tom. A visit to the Kruger will be good but the Serengeti National park up in North Africa is the best in Africa, we hope to do that soon also. Best wishes, Jennifer.

I do not dare peek at the news any more, Jennifer, so you are schooling me. You are correct, the ones who cannot hear or see though cannot listen or know. The rest had better take more than a peek.

Hi Caren, Well said my friend. The way the world is going right now is disastrous - I reckon our planet is heading for a catastrophe, but, Leaders/Politicians of countries are not so stupid (I hope) If the east presses that red button the west will do the same immediately, nothing and no one left to enjoy the spoils. Boom bang gone xoxo, Jennifer

Thanks Heidi, We often feel we want to take a politician by the scruff of his or her neck and shake him or her - why can't they see solutions whilst the rest of the world can - they in fact can, but it doesn't suit them to, because of their greed for money, power and status. thank you for your lovely comment Heidi. xoxo, Jennifer.
