Peaceful Light
Evening is drawing
on in the
metropolis
cars rushing
by on the FDR Drive
remind me that we live
in a mechanical wonderland
My flesh yearns
for the touch of
women flesh
The years have seen
us change, friends
Hearts beating in the metropolitan evening
lead us to draw conclusions
Not always pleasant
ones
Poets from all over
the world
have their work in New York's Poets House
Visitors drop in
for a casual
look at
the work of the masters
old and new
Young poetic voices
are added to
the worldly
symphony of public
lines
Where witness is made
to some of the treacheries
and brightest hopes
of mankind
