Peace With My Past

I’ve been the person
That held onto things
I held on
Even when it didn’t feel right
But my heart had no idea
That certain days would no longer serve me
Between then and now
Something happened
My soul became lighter
No longer carrying the weight
And the tiny fragments
Of my fragile being
I left that part behind
Now clinging to strength
Strength in the crown
Making peace with life’s lessons
Knowing that not everything I’ve lost
Was bound to be a loss
