Peace Through the Shadows
I walk across shadows painted on the street, from trees that shelter the sunshine
Worries drift away with the clouds, as this calming place becomes mine
Passing ferns and flowers, thoughts settle in the greenery all around
As they speak to me in a wondrous silence, simply without a sound
I know not why things can remain pleasantly simple, while humans create chaos
Seemingly not caring about the ultimate outcome or to grow instead of such loss
Oh, if only we could be more simple, focusing on the small gestures instead
I’d say we have a chance with time on our side, to find glorious moments ahead
So as I step on these shadows that can be beautiful, while branches dance in the street
I know it takes darkness to know what is light, as the dawn after night does meet
