Peace of Mind

Maybe I've been a MAVERICK all my life.
All those times, walking against the rain.
The truth in my heart is my PEACE OF MIND.
To know for any reason that I'm still STANDING
against the odds.
Still knowing and despite this fight I am growing
In a thousand WAYS I had not ever imagined.
Where tears seemed to fall, looking into my reflection
There were no tears rolling.
I have PROTECTED my dignity, and spent my tears on
Worthy moments while wrestling my fears.
I'm still STANDING HERE I AM.
