Peace Must Prevail
Why must we have a down day now and then
Are there new rules I'm not aware of
Basically I'm upbeat as I'm sure you all know
But today came crashing down with a thud
Sure we're all bitten by the sad bug at times
It's a big part of this thing we call life
It provides a balance, allowing us to compare
Too much of either, we pay the price
When we finally get it, how this thing works
Gives a feeling of contentment and ease
Opening up our minds with waves of compassion
Instead of constant conflicts across seas
To my way of thinking, it isn't rocket science
Why must there always be conflicts
Probably written on a huge tablet somewhere
Must be forced to follow some new edict
Countries of the world must sign a proclamation
To curb all incursions and aggression
Word “freedom” must prevail throughout the world
We must strive to eliminate oppression
For centuries the world has been fighting battles
It is totally incomprehensible to me
Intelligent, peace loving peoples have been trying
For centuries and we still can't agree
When I'm dead and gone, hope a time in the future
Peace will finally be achieved
Now if I was a betting man, I'd most likely lose
Who really knows, wonders never cease
