Peace ..Be Still
Sitting alone one evening
Amid the evening calm
I felt a gentle breath as cool as healing balm
Though all was still I heard these words
echo through the hills
Peace... Be Still.
Though all was still
a pulsating throb vibrated in the air
And there again that whisper soft
I heard upon the wind
Peace... Be still.
A little brook rippled along its curvy course
as silent tears I shed for the many times my heart was bled
By hurtful words and cruel deeds that linger deep within
but as the little brook rippled and tripped
my heart with hope was filled
Peace... Be still.
Upon a bough a little bird sang this lullaby
Life is precious don't you cry
No tears are needed here
neither sadness nor pain should come your way
With joy only let your heart be filled
Peace ...Be still.
Now bathed in the sunset gentle hues
my heart turns to the silent One
who smiled upon me the day I was born
and talks to me in whispers soft and words upon the
wind Peace... Be still.
