Peace and Tranquility

Sitting on a rock
In my favourite glen
Sheltering from the sun on a hot and sunny day.
Seeking peace from a whirlwind of a week.
I watch the water as it cascades in long, slow, soft ripples
Gathering in a pool of clear blue.
I wonder where its journey will end.
It is too inviting; I must have a dip, hoping to clear my mind.
I enter, not anticipating its warmth and
I sink in its depths, floating, suspended in time—
I think to myself how this moment is idyllic, peaceful, and totally mine.
Peace settles over me.
Nature settles me with peace and tranquillity.
