Paulette – 1

He called her Pauli (it’s short for Paulette)
But this new family changed her name to Mae.
They are kind enough, but she can’t forget
He called her Pauli (it’s short for Paulette).
Sure, they feed, and pet, and walk her, yet
She misses his home, his voice, and the way
He called her Pauli (it’s short for Paulette),
And this new family changed her name to Mae.
