Paul Davies
Paul played table tennis as part of his rehab,
So accepted an invitation to ‘Come and Try’,
Which saw him selected for a German contest,
To represent Wales ‘cos he’s from Cardiff fab.
That was first bat, his accident was in 1986,
So Paul was chosen for the London Paras,
Where he won the men’s singles bronze,
He was extremely satisfied with his bricks.
In 2013 at the European Championships,
Paul won singles silver, he lost to Will Bayley,
But the two combined irrespectively to win,
The gold medal for the team matches, sticks.
Then he broke his leg, but in 2014 returned,
To gain singles medals in Slovenia, Slovakia,
And together with Rob Davies, gold medalist,
He won a gold in both places, they burned.
Paul made the ParalympicGB Team in Rio,
Where he was accompanied by his wife, carer,
Who sadly passed away suddenly afterwards.
Son Jonathan plays TT in Wales U21 phono.
