Patriot of Humanity

Fight for your country. Fight for your freedom Obey your Commander. Your Sergeant Squad leader. Obey. Drilled into you, over and over. Do it again. Like clockwork. Day in day out, orders become second nature. Years go by Groundhog day. Following orders Commands. Out on a mission. The order is given. " Kill the civilians who do not comply. Coming from top brass." " Sir?" " You have a problem soldier?* " Repeat order Sir!" " Wipeout Civilians who drag ass. Eliminate the weak." " Innocent people Sir?" " Did I stutter Soldier?" " No Sir." The soldier falls into formation. He has done this practice a million times. He knows what to do, but this order. Is wrong. Struggling, Conflicted, He sees Top Brass in the distance, yelling at a soldier who is pointing a weapon at a woman on her knees with her child. The soldier being screamed at is shaken. He flinches and the man with the shiny chest candy takes his own weapon and fires into the woman's head, she falls over with child in arms. Witnessing all of this, our soldier looks to the sky, awaiting the order from the Real top brass only He wears gold. " Lord?" He says in his troubled spirit. The answer-" Son, sometimes taking out one can save thousands. You know what to do." Without hesitation, the soldier raises his m-16 and top brass makes eye contact. Then he hits the ground. Swarmed. Court Martialed. Imprisoned. " Lord, where are you?" Verdict- Accidental casualty of war. Friendly Fire. Pardoned. Freedom comes when you do what is right. He would do it again to avoid another Holocaust. History won't repeat if one would just break the mold, because In the conscience is where hero's live.
