Patience

Future, forthcoming, impending, imminent,
Future!
In the present a constant litany
The misery of constant thought of it,
Today there, tomorrow there,
Tomorrow in today.
Invisibility of reason as accompaniment,
The feeling, a river flow of unease and restlessness
Never stopping sometimes a little less throbbing
The drive to do and to be done to,
Finally he intervenes once called upon
Showing that it’s a gradual step
Requiring basking in the little glory
Of the presence of mind of the present
The beauty of waiting without anxiety
The gayness of today.
