Pathways

Resolved
to be insubordinate
a reckless gait upon
the shores of the mundane
craving moments of fury
though triumph ranks among
the victims of probability

And yet across the confidence
of this samurai troubador
strikes the villainy of self
urging a faculty too elusive
to be called critical but by
function

In this way destiny revolves by
a natural law unencumbered
fantasy overrun despite
jealous objections clinging
like threads to the electric
of life

Resolved
to be Excellent
