Path To the Heart

I close my eyes
As I walk down a narrow path
That leads straight to the center of the heart.
I look for light, an opening, a sign,
But I am blinded by perpetual darkness.
I can only see the deep black sky,
Feel the icy breeze,
Hear the wind blowing gently on my skin.
I kept walking, dissolving the hope of
Making it to the heart.
I guess the universe has other plans for me,
I have other places to go.
