Path To Purity

On the opposite bank of the river
the chariot awaits.
A straight path to the sky.
Yet as I cross the current pulls strong.
Some hold longer than I
but not much.
And yet others will blaze the trail
through the waters
so murky and dull.
To reach the shining chariot
and the utopian it holds
