Patchwork

Pieces and bits
Scraps of old wit

Fragments of rhymes
Hints of old chimes

Present from past
Words in a blast

Once ready made
Cheer seems to fade

Look when you see
What comes to be

Stooping in time
Voice in fond mimes

Dark is the night
Find deeper light

Know that you know
A broken flow

Patchwork in verse
Dare you observe

Lines from somewhere
Dance here and there

Look beyond set
Then place your bet

Old things from new
A patchwork view

Plunge into daze
Waltz through life's maze

Weary sorrow
Gone tomorrow

Be authentic
Glimpse dynamic

Re-jig the old
Re-heat the cold

Verse in odd lots
Edge out retort

Prize beneath price
What a surprise
