Don't try to make me just like you I must cherish my free speech and thought If I just clung on to your point of view I’d relinquish a right which cannot be bought LGBTQ people are dancing, spitting on, and defiling your grave Well because ding dong, yet another witch is dead Christian Broadcasting, you founded to minister and save Condemned feminists as devils whom we should dread We speak of religious right pundit Pat Robertson Avowing 9/11 attacks as divinely ordained The Queen is dead, but perhaps not gone Because his small minded thoughts have remained Nothing says Pride like the death of your proto-Hillsong They won’t miss that homophobia which you did awake So here’s to you Mr. Robertson And your accusing gay men of a spiky HIV handshake

Pat Robertson did look to scapegoat minorities for 9/11 and for so many other ills that beset America. Rather than seeing Biblical scripture as loving + embracing humanity, sins + all, he took the severe, Old Testament view of condemnation. Whatever happened to "judge not, lest ye be so judged" ? A very powerful write, Anaya. Sincerely Brian

TVangelists took most of the 'angel' out of evangels... I preferred the 'after-midnight miracle men' who used to make the blind see, the lame walk, and then push them away, causing them to faint away or collapse. Those frauds were at least good for a laugh or two. :) gw

Healing powers, like Oral Roberts, Tulsa OK. I heard of him through research. Elvis had the experience. Send me your money, Roberts said the Lord would take him away unless the viewers sent him a million dollars. eke. Thanks for the visit GW, I am honored and enjoy your fun poems!

I see God as loving and tolerant, not a bigot or ogre. You wrote what needed to be said, a funeral should not preclude honesty. Best to you, Robert

He insighted a lot of hatred from his radio mutterings. We need acceptance of differences, not ridicule. Lets hope he isnt replaced by another such fool. Well written Anaya, and your subject, was so well chosen.

Gone at 93, yesterday. In the wake of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 Robertson televangelist was harshly condemned for blaming abortion doctors, feminists, gay people and the American Civil Liberties Union. Robertson came under fire in 2010 for falsely claiming that the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti that year was caused by enslaved Black people who made a “pact with the Devil” in the 18th century as they fought for liberation from French colonizers.
