Pastrual Quilt

Pastoral Quilt. A pastoral quilt Of varied greens And russet tawny browns Surveyed by adoring eye On verge of a hill High above he ground The provaling wind Reddens my cheeks With a slight bite And tussles my hair As I breath in the pure clean air Towering sisters of mountain rocky outcrop Tor and hill Forever still Linier lines of old dry sandstone walls Border the fields and rustic barren moor Weathered and peppered with with moss and lichen Permiate the landscape wild and raw As ravens shrike And falcons on thermals sore Lilac heather Glades Give shelter to critters From temperamental bitter harsh weather And paints a lovely variegated scene Views and picked by countless others Overseen by Couples in love Lost in a dream Small cotton woolly dots grace majestically On idle pasture As a barren wiry tree Stretches ever upwards For the live giving sun to replenish it’s leaves Rugged wild and timeless Inhospitable Weather changeable Within the blink of an eye A place where survival is paramount Death a mere whisper and daily occurrence As time goes by Untameable unsustainable Beauty to heart soul and eye.
