Pastels
Nature flaunts a palette of soft pastel
colors she applies with an artist's brush,
and paints pink sunsets and coral conch shell,
transforming vivid hues into a blush.
Flowers come in a plethora of tints
like periwinkle, lavender, and rose,
and green leaves tout an assortment of inks,
while concealing shades that nobody knows.
Butterfly wings are Nature's works of art,
painted in all colors of the rainbow.
Her living masterpieces move my heart,
and yet, Nature has so much more to show.
As azure waves lap the sand on the beach,
purple bleeds mauve, and almond fades to peach.
