Past and Present

The days feel like forever,
the sky is always blue.
I have all the time in the world,
everything in the world is new.
I stumbled upon sadness,
hopelessness and fear.
So I drove across the country,
hands clutched the steering wheel.
I landed here in Phoenix,
where the sun always shines.
I soak it in and breathe it out,
cleanse my heart, my soul, my mind.
It's important to take these steps,
for far too long I've been depressed.
The road to healing is now in sight,
my past shall not break down my fight.
