Past

Time does nothing lately
I'm paused in the past
Was there something I forgot
Is this feeling going to last
I close my eyes only to see darkness
I open them to remember darkness
And if by chance I forget
I'll be reminded every day
By memory's I can't suppress
Memories that never go away
The sting of each hit
Hard across my face
Only to remind me I mustn't forget my place
The feeling of the hunger that burns inside me still
All the things I had to see and do much agenst my will
The feeling of the cord wrapped around my wrist
The sound of muffled noises from beneath the tape
With the back of a broom a belt or a sandal
I thought then there's nothing I can't handle
I'm still broken you see
All the once beautiful parts of me
I can't be free
Even far away the memories sill haunt me
