Passing On

A weathered stone now bears my name
?Identity of once a being
?Living out existence
Never making sense of why we are here

To be absent from the body
?Is to be present with the Lord?
The dust returns to earth
Yet separates from bones

Up here you will hear a rhythmic sob?
Or two from living yet-to-dies
?A stream of longing ?
Destiny’s abyss

They cry for me?
Sharing tears
?Mortality brings ?
As twilight nears
