"passing Memories"

I drive by our old spots and a
sad feeling pours down my chest..
Its a difficult time that covers over
this soul that can't rest..
Another street another tear, I so
much hate this feeling of fear..
Passing the train where we kissed
and waved goodbye..
I can only swallow this lump and
do my best not to cry..
Your smile and scent stay with me
on every turn I make..
The diner where we sat and held
hands and shared coffee and cake..
These memories are outlined around
my heart..
A lasting love that is not done, just
lost its start...

sad, very deep emotions one can relate to, not all memories have the emptiness in feeling when it comes to certain places that remind us of a love that went no where, enjoyed,..p.d.

Oh, Michael, this is such a sweet poem filled with an aching longing for lost love. Surely almost everyone can relate to the way you see her spirit as you pass by all the places you went together. Beautifully written! Love, Carolyn
